1:59:80 For Eliud Kipchoge?

Updated: Oct 12, 2019

Kipchoge is enjoying one of the best moments in Kenya's athletics history. In the wake of data analytics, conditioning, health and nutritional information driven sports industry, he has all the advantage to go for one of the records that will find a resting place in history books for decades. We've already had a taste of the music and dance to the tunes of his current greatness.

For the last two years, he has been studied, experimented and analysed. From sports agencies to analytics companies; exercise equipment have been simulated to replicate Kipchoge's speed on the way to 2:00:25. For him to break the 1:59:99 mark, he must project lower times to accommodate any errors. Thus, a 1:58:80 would take him all the way to the Athletics Hall of Fame, and become the second Kenyan to make it to the list, to join senior Kipchoge.

On the 12th of October, with all factors held constant, I believe Kipchoge will ink his name in Athletics Books as a GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) with an under 2 hour record. Why is this time special? His training goal for the last two year has been to go for the record, as per all the monitored and reported preparation. Secondly, I think he has very strong team of pacesetters and competitors alike.

Kipchoge used the previous 2:01:39 record split for his training, and the investment made to challenge the human limits; this will be the most anticipated race in our recent times.

Finally, Tokyo 2020 will drain Kipchoge's last kicks if he planning to defend his Olympic title. This would be the motivating factor to go for the record this year and the future can take it's course.

"12/10/19 Kipchoge under 2 hours it shall be!!"

Is it a coincidence that 100 years later a Briton decides to sponsor a Talai in a historic world record break? Or is God rewriting history to put us where we actually belong? In my view Kipchoge has done everything, all it takes to return back the mantle from British to us. To me this is historic. Tomorrow as we sit in front of the screen to watch an historic event I want to urge all of us to possess the victory. Its the mantle being handed back to us prophetically!!!. In my view Kipchoge accomplishes tomorrow a God given responsibility to take back his clan to where it belongs!!! Its no…
